Notre Dame Fighting Irish have been outstanding this college football season. Already off to an 11-0 start, the Irish will look to stay unbeaten as they face the USC Trojans. They have a Heisman candidate in linebacker Manti Te’o, who has

led the Notre Dame defense, which has surrendered only around ten points per game. But already having close games against unranked Pitt, BYU, and Purdue, the Irish don’t seem like the brute they are. They really are a talented football team, who can challenge any team, which is why they are undefeated. They will have to face the shorthanded USC Trojans this Saturday. USC will not have Matt Barkley in this game, but redshirt freshman Max Wittek is confident they will upset Notre Dame at home.

Notre Dame has been solid in their offensive game, but their defense has carried them this far. When their defense doesn’t play well, the games are usually closer than it should be. Take the Pitt game for example. Their defense surrendered 26 points. ND only won by three, helped by a missed field goal.. But to surrender 26 points in a game is unlike the Fighting Irish, which is why the game became closer and tension rose.

Notre Dame has come up in the clutch, which is why they stand with an 11-0 record. They have beaten a couple of ranked teams, including Oklahoma, so they do have the talent to remain number one. The game verses the Trojans will be tough, but I see Notre Dame surrendering their first loss of the season. Te’o can’t carry this team on his back all the time, and once USC starts scoring; the game will be soon out of reach. USC wins, and it will be more than just seven points.

Final Prediction: Notre Dame 24 – USC 34
