On Friday June 1st, 2012 Johan Santana pitched the first ever Mets no-hitter in team history. After 51 long years and 8,020 games for New York fans, Santana was able to no-hit the St. Louis Cardinals in front of 27,069 at Citi Field in New York. It is well known that Santana has had an imfamous injury history recently, so it was great seeing him accomplish the feat after many had doubted if he could ever return to form. Manager Terry Collins had just discussed how he did not know if Santana could return. I guess he knows his pitcher is back now.
