You can’t tell me Roddy White is a better fantasy option than Julio Jones, or that injured James Starks is #92. Or that Matt Forte, devoid of goal line work, is top 10. Or that Michael Turner, who doesn’t even fit in to his fucking offense is a top 40. He should be back with Gore, who you at least got right.
Roddy White led the NFL in targets last year. He has had five straight seasons with at least 1,100 yards. Jones’ ceiling may be higher than White’s, but White’s consistency is incredible.
I just now read about Starks’ turf toe. You’re right, he shouldn’t be in the top 100.
I almost put Forte higher than 9. Check this article out–http://insider.espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/6783289/nfl-why-matt-forte-adrian-peterson-equal
And since Turner became a regular starter a few years ago, only AP and CJ2K have averaged more yards per game. Last year, the Falcons said they were going to cut back on Turner’s carries, yet he was still 2nd in the league with 301. Even if he gets 275 this year, he’s still a good pickup. May not be a high ceiling, but his floor is as high as any RB in the league.
Roddy himself admitted that he’s going to see less playing time and less targets. It’s not a recipe for a top twenty player. More in the late twenties-forty range. Should flip Jones and White. Meanwhile, Julio has been lighting up camp to the point where multiple reporters have said the Falcons’ CBs look out of place when guarding him. That’s the likes of Asante Samuel and Brent Grimes that he’s been eating alive. Also, in Dirk Koetter’s new fast offense, Michael Turner has looked incredibly out of place and should be pulled for Jacquizz Rodgers a number of times in the no-huddle. Turner showed signs of wearing down last season and he’s not going to come close to what he did last year.
I don’t have insider, so that’s also hard to look at. However, Michael Bush is going to steal all goal-line work, making him pretty much yards only. His lack of TDs shall be repeated.
I just don’t think you can flip White and Jones until Jones proves himself. One rookie year isn’t enough to overtake five years of elite production. And Turner may concede some time to Rodgers, but not enough to drop him out of the top 40. After those first three RBs, there are so many question marks, so rankings are all over the place.
Last year, Forte only scored three touchdowns but had nearly 1,500 total yards in just 12 games. He was 14th in total points for running backs even though he only played 12 games and scored just three touchdowns. So even if he doesn’t score more than four touchdowns this season, it’s very reasonable to think that he could amass 2,000 total yards and be a top 5 RB.
We’ll just have to see with Jones, although you’ll find that at the end of the year he’s a top-three fantasy wide receiver.
In this article (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000053330/article/maurice-jonesdrew-vs-jaguars-rival-executives-analyze-spat) , NFL.com mentions that “There’s a perception, league-wide, that it’s about to happen to Michael Turner, who has carried a similar three-down load to his Jacksonville counterpart.” They were talking about a running back slipping off big time after heavy three down workloads. Watching the preseason, listening to the beat writers talk about Turner, watching him struggle to make it through the last two months of the season…. everything amounts to Turner being more where you have Frank Gore listed.
Dude. Darren McFadden at 10? Yikes man.
Do you think that’s high or low?
