The NBA season is approaching, as it will kick off on Tuesday, October 30th. Fantasy teams are being commenced as their team is being filled up with all kinds of players. Sleepers, busts, and stars are those players, but there is no real knowledge on who will rise up. Predictions are being made, as many names are being thrown out there.
But who will be the best sleeper this year? I predict the Philadelphia 76ers guard Evan Turner to shine and excel against all NBA teams. Although he won’t become the star player on the team due to the newly acquired Andrew Bynum, Turner will be a close-second and will put up better points per game.
Evan Turner came into the NBA in 2010 but did not put up the numbers that were projected for him. In his previous season, Turner averaged 9.4 points, 2.8 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game, which proved Turner is improving every year.
For this upcoming year, I expect another improving season as Turner will average around 17 points, 4 assists, and 6 rebounds per game. He will show he can lead the 76ers, adding to the spot Andre Iguodala had. Him and Bynum will become a great duo, gaining team chemistry right away.
The 76ers are a deadly team, and if their 2nd overall pick back in 2010 can shine, then they might be able to take on any team. If you are drafting a team anytime soon, then I would definitely get my hands on Evan Turner. I predict Evan Turner to earn the title: Sleeper of the Year.
